Your Advocacy Matters! House Votes to Preserve Federal Agencies

American Alliance of Museums’ field-wide advocacy efforts are making a difference!

On September 18, 2017, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill to provide funding for the three federal agencies slated for elimination in President Trump's FY18 budget proposal. Get the scoop on what was in the legislation, what happens next, and how you can continue supporting the cause.

Additionally, the Alliance and Blackbaud extends a hearty congratulations to all the museums awarded grants by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) last week. A total of $26 million will be distributed to museums from across the US and its territories.

If you've received a federal grant, be sure to let Congress know how it has helped your museum – this will reinforce the impact of these vital grants to policymakers and help ensure their continued support!
