Ranked in multiple lists for children’s museums and science centers, the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose has been consistently growing. It had to start looking for a solution that could consolidate multiple systems into one. At the same time, the staff was using Vista® to track sales while Raiser’s Edge™ managed donations and membership. This led to disconnects in the flow of information and caused missed opportunities and difficulties in developing reports. They needed a solution that could combine donations and sales, keep up with growth, streamline reporting, and improve marketing efforts. Cheryl Blumenthal, director of information systems & compliance, looked to Altru to replace previous systems and provide a single database for tracking members, donations, sales, and assist staff with visitors.
