CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose Since opening in June 1990, Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose (CDM) has welcomed over seven million visitors. Its striking 52,000 sq. ft. purple building, designed by Mexico City-based architect Ricardo Legorreta, signals the Museum's mission: to serve the needs of children, families, and schools as a center for learning and discovery. Each year, its talented team responds to children's diverse educational needs by bringing new, interactive exhibits to life. With the addition of the West Wing in 1997, the Museum expanded its size by 20 percent. The addition of the 3,200 sq. ft. Builder Building in 2015 provided a new onsite location for exhibit fabrication. Now, CDM has plans to expand outdoors: Bill's Backyard will be a 27,500 sq. ft. outdoor play space and bridge to nature for the community's children and families. This outdoor expansion will essentially double CDM's exhibit space.
