DeceasedRecordFinder ™ for Altru ® Pro-Actively Identify and Suppress Accounts From Communications. Overview DeceasedRecordFinder was designed to help nonprofits pro-actively identify deceased individuals within their constituent database, and either suppress them from communications or develop an alternative strategy to engage that household moving forward. The service reviews a list of supporter names and addresses, and examines each record to determine if that constituent has passed away, and if so, returns the date and source of the deceased information. Description The DeceasedRecordFinder service utilizes the Social Security Death Benefit Index as the primary source for deceased identification—the standard for suppression within the nonprofit sector. The best practice recommendation is for nonprofits to perform deceased suppression at least once each year, which is normally done in sync with regular address processing; this helps avoid embarrassing situations, and to limit wasted resources by sending communications to non-responsive patrons. The service is seamlessly integrated within Blackbaud's Altru database for arts and cultural organizations. Deliverables • Donor File with Deceased Record Flags • Date of Death Indicator • Information Source Indicator • Match Rate & Control Reporting • Direct Integration with Altru Benefits • Pro-actively Identify Deceased Supporters • Eliminate Wasted Time with Manual Searches • Avoid Potentially Embarrassing Communications • Reduce Waste on Print, Postage, and Returned Mail • Integrate Seamlessly with Altru 800.443.9441 December 2016
