ARTICLE: bbcon 2018 - Through the Lens of a Blackbaud Customer Success Manager

October 16, 2018 Sharon Weston

I hung my ribbon-draped bbcon badge up in my cube this morning to remind me of my amazing and enlightening week in Orlando.  As I think back on bbcon, I am moved by the power and promise of seeing thousands of people together in one place who want to make the world better.  You are all extraordinary people, and I am honored to work with you.  I am in awe of your energy and passion.

I talked to many customers at bbcon—at lunch, in the halls and expo hall, after sessions—and I heard several common themes.  You are hungry for knowledge, for inspiration, for the opportunity to connect with each other.  You are excited to share everything you learned at bbcon with your teammates back in the office, but you are nervous about how to do that without overwhelming them or scaring them with change.  You are worried about maintaining your excitement and enthusiasm after the glow of bbcon fades.

There are no easy answers to these challenges.  Change, even for the better, makes people uncomfortable.  Let your conference knowledge empower you as a guide to discuss these new ideas with your team.  Connect with the people you met at bbcon to stay motivated.  Get involved in the Blackbaud Community to grow your network and continue to learn from your peers.  Take advantage of the free tools Blackbaud makes available year-round, like The Blackbaud Index, The Blackbaud Institute for Philanthropic Impact, and resources shared by your Customer Success team.  We are here to help you power your mission.

I believe you can maintain your excitement, inspiration and motivation from bbcon.  I see you!

Registration is now open for bbcon 2019 in Nashville! Hope to see you there!
