Aquariums Celebrate Sea Otter Awareness Week| To bring awareness and also showcase Sea Otters last week, aquariums and zoos had a tweet-off! Who's the cutest otter of them all? Check out the hashtag #seaottertweetoff to decide, and see some of our favorites below!

Fire Department Turns Hoses into Zoo Animal Toys | The White Plains Fire Department donated over 6,700 feet of fire hose to the Maryland-based nonprofit Hose2Habitat to create durable toys and playscapes for animals in zoos, sanctuaries, and wildlife rehab centers. Mermaids Swim into Newport Aquarium | Mermaids will be swimming among the fish in the Aquariums Amazon Tunnel until October 15th. You can also meet a mermaid for a dry land visit in the Shark Ray Bay Theater. If you are in the Newport, Rhode Island area, you have to check this out!
